DESCRIPTION—The MDCN bird-in-flight identity developed as a direct interpretation of the idea of unrestrained wireless technology; that a flying bird is the most commonly recognizable symbol of freedom. It also is the most far removed from an association with technology. The bird body elements are filled in with discrete lines (representing digital information) of varying thickness and are dotted and dashed to create levels of "colour".

MDCN graphic standards manual which includes all size and context variants of the logo wordmark, letterhead, all art files for the MDCN website, and instructions for their proper use in situ. Material use (foam box + CDROM tray) is a literal interpretation of interfacing with computer technology.
